{March 3, 2008}   A Lesson on Love

It started out quiet, and then gradually, the calls of mommy kitty got louder. I looked up from my work, and saw her tiny orange head poking into the house. She mewed again, her eyes searching. Then a little while passed, and the tiny thing slipped away.

Yes — mommy kitty has been looking for her babies for days. She is a feisty, tiny thing, a perfect little stray who came and went as she saw fit.

Sometimes when I went home from school, I will find her lying near the lift, prowling and mewing at everyone in her friendly manner. Sometimes, she will be rummaging through the trash — careful with whatever leftovers she find. Sometimes when I take the staircase in the corner to my house, I will pass by a little cardboard shack someone had made for her babies and her. And there she is, a tiny mother watching her three babies playing. Sometimes, she will even play with them too.

But lately, I’ve been hearing her calls. Her babies were missing, and everyday, I will see her searching for them. I remember them very clearly — one orange kitten, one grey kitten and one, I call, blender kitten because its coat patterns are a swirl of black, orange and white — very much like mommy kitty.

To be honest I miss the kittens very much.

Last night, I saw mommy kitty playing with her babies again. This time, only orange and grey were around. Baby blender wasn’t — and it was a sad picture of a family broken because of some selfish cat-napper.

My heart ached at this small picture, and I cannot forget the mother’s love and desperate search for her missing babies.

{March 1, 2008}   first thoughts

Considering that I already have an existing blog, I wonder why I even take up a new blog here on WordPress. I supposed this is my other sanctuary, one very different from the rambles many of my readers are used to.

That said, I now declare this my safe space, and will act as a record of my thoughts and ideas — particularly in theatre.
